Picture this, you got your Xbox 360 and you have a few friends coming over that you need to entertain. So you decide to pick up Rockband, but once you have everything setup, something just doesn’t look right. The pedal for the drums just looks so “plasticy”, and that just doesn’t bode well in your trendy apartment. So what do you do? You go carbon fiber of course:

The guys at Forward Swept Enterprises some spare material they had laying around to convert their Rockband pedal into carbon fiber goodness. They used a 3k, 2×2 twill weave that was a hybrid fabric consisting of blue kevlar and carbon fiber (see our article on colored carbon fiber).

Since they were using scraps and strands there snagged or tweaked, as well as part of the texture surface on the bottom of the pedal, it played a role in the waviness that you see in the pictures.

Forward Swept did mention that they can do this for your Rockband pedal for about $40, and there would of course be no waviness since scrap pieces won’t be used.
