A company by the name of Phiaton makes a sweet pair of headphones which have carbon fiber enclosures for the speakers:

The design of the headphone itself is gorgeous, and the carbon fiber weave really just sets these apart.  The closed ear design helps reduce outside noise.  Here’s the official specs:

  • Studio grade 40 mm Electrodynamic Drivers
  • Impedance: 32 Ohm
  • Sensitivity: 98 dB
  • Max input power: 1000 mW
  • Weight: 5 oz / 140 g without cord (MS300) Weight: 6.5 oz / 185 g without cord (MS400)

The MS300 model is priced at $199, while the MS400 is $249.  Both can be ordered directly through Phiaton’s website.

ZDNet reviewed the headphones, and this was their bottom line:

The Phiaton MS 400 Moderna Series headphones are cool to look at and comfy to wear; the balanced audio quality make them a good choice for listeners with a diverse taste in music.

Phiaton is actually owned by a company called Cresyn, which you may not have heard of before, but probably have utilized their products.  They are one of the largest manufactures of consumer electronics components in the world.  Phiaton is their leg into the retail world.
