Here at Carbon Fiber Gear, we’re huge fans of modern design, especially when carbon fiber is being used.  That’s exactly what Spanish designer Jordi Mila used when creating the Hot Rider stool as part of his 2009/2010 collection:

The design is reminiscent of an English saddle on a majestic thoroughbred horse, which makes it somewhat unconventional since carbon fiber is such a high-tech material.

Notice in the picture, there are only three legs, which was a challenge in the design to make work, requiring perfect distancing between points.  The entire Hot Rider stool is hand-made with carbon fiber, and the footrest is covered with silicon carbide to prevent wear of the carbon fiber.  The bottom has rubber caps on the feet to protect your floors.  There is a hook on the back that is finished in an anodized aluminum.

We asked the designer why carbon fiber, and how long does it take to make?  Jordi Mila’s responded stating that the new brand is focused on the habitat industry, and the collection is developed with unconventional materials, along with the product design itself.  This of course lead them to use carbon fiber.  They had to develop a special mold, and manufacturing each stool takes around two weeks.
