We’ve had our hands on a couple of different carbon fiber related iPhone cases. We’ve looked at the Case-Mate carbon fiber leather case as well as the ION carbon fiber and leather/velvet cases. This time around we’ve got the hands on scoop with the Dro Concepts full carbon fiber iPhone case. Each case is a little different from the next, but the Dro Concepts version is the first one that is made completely out of carbon fiber.
The cases are hand crafted with 4 layers of genuine carbon fiber, and unlike many carbon fiber products, they are actually made in the good ole’ US of A (in Indiana to be more specific). The thing to keep in mind is that unlike many cases out there that use fake carbon fiber or a carbon fiber pattern print, the DRO Concepts case uses 100% real carbon fiber. The case (we’re looking specifically at the one for the iPhone 3G) is extremely light, our trusty scale says it weighs in at just 15 grams…and that’s with the inner neoprene cushion.
The carbon fiber has a scratch resistant high gloss coating on the outer layer for protection, and as mentioned above the inside is lined with neoprene (with a sweet DRO Concepts logo) to provide cushion to the iPhone. The design is extremely thing to not add too much additional bulk to the phone, and it’s designed to give complete access to all of the iPhone 3G controls. There is even a cutout on the back to display the Apple logo, because we all know how important that is!
The case also comes with a microfiber polishing cloth, and a D-shield anti static screen guard. The case is priced at $84.99, we liked it so much that we decided to sell it on our site, which you can purchase here. At this time we’re only carrying the iPhone 3G case in carbon fiber, but it’s also available for the regular iPhone. I’m a huge fan of carbon fiber! I usually replace motorcycle parts with it. Anyways, I ordered from DRO Concepts on Feb 3rd and will be giving an update/review once I receive the product!

I bought the CF case from DRO Concepts 2 months ago… but they sent me the silver version. So I returned the silver CF case the same day … but they refuse to credit my AMEX and have not returned any of my emails. I am going to report them to the small business bureau and have AMEX contact them.

Bought this sometime last year. Blocked reception and fit way to snug. I also dropped it on a short carpeted surface and the Carbon fiber split along the seam. I would not purchase this case. Biggest reason is the blocked reception. A lot of people loved the look of the case and had lots of complements but other than that, not worth the money. The customer service sucks too.

I bought a Case from DRO Concept, when I order it, the cases were on backorder. On 10th May 2009 I received an email that said it was shipped priority mail. But it still hasn’t shown up, I live in TX, it should have been here a week ago. I’ve sent them two emails but they have not responded. No Case – Anyone else had this problem?
I did get my case after a couple of emails. They explained they were having trouble with the initial back-order shipments. The Case is excellent. No Complaints about the quality. Looks Great Performs as Expected. I have had it for almost 3 months now. I have dropped my phone a couple of time on a hard surface, good protection.
We no longer recommend purchasing from Dro Concepts. They have not answered any of our e-mails either, and we no longer carry their products.

I’ve bought an iphone case from dro
concepts, and paid through paypal in mid october. I waited for it until yesterday,
ocasionaly checking fedex’s site, were it allways said “available for
clearence”.
Past experience warned me the delay was normal, due to customs, and i would sooner or later
be contacted with further instructions from fedex.
Yesterday (22/12) i decided to contact fedex directly: i was told that they’d
returned my parcel. As they did not have a phone number or e-mail adress to
contact me (both of wich i gave DRO concepts…), and after trying to
contact the sender several times to get that information, they “returned it
to sender”, with the reference ############. That has happened a while back and
DRO never informed of what had hapened, nor have they replied to my e-mail.
It is the first time this happens to me, and i consider this whole affair
unprofessional on Dro’s part.

I bought one of these cases (new two pc. design) for my iPhone 3GS. I never used it because once it arrived the fit, finish and overall quality were so substandard that I wouldn’t even consider using it in public. I exchanged a couple emails with Mary at DRO who was gracious in her offer to exchange the case for the newer redesigned case when it was released. I didn’t send the case back right away because, frankly, the delay in getting the first case and it’s poor quality had moved my interest to the back burner. Recently I sent Mary another email which has gone unanswered for a few weeks.
Buy at your own risk. Very disappointing and not worth a fraction of the cost.

Received a carbon fiber case from dro concepts for Christmas from my girlfriend and have nothing but good things to say about it. The shiny finish is beautiful and the case looks like a million bucks. I matches my Audi S4 interior perfectly and is a must for this carbon fiber lover. I haven’t had any experience with their customer service so I can’t speak to that.
My brother ordered a DRO concepts carbon fiber case for my iphone. I was excited to receive it in the mail but it never showed up. I contacted fedex but no luck. They said it was delivered and left on my porch, back door and front door ( I do not own a porch or do I have a back door. Fedex told me to contact DRO Concepts so that they could resend the order.
Since 22 Dec 09 I’ve only received one email from them. Which I responded to in the same day. Since then, sent two more emails requesting more information on the status of the order. I have not received any information. I am extremely disappointed in the way I’ve been treated.
I think I would have loved the product, if I received it. However, customer service is a major part of doing business and If you lack ever aspect known to man to communicate with your customer, Then you have failed us.
I currently do not recommend this product but hope that we are able to fix this issue.

Mike i finally did get my carbon fiber i phone case. It did take longer than expected but i am extremely happy with the case. Mary caim through and i would recommend the product if you are looking for a real carbon fiber phone case. It is the best one out there. I hope the company works out any of the customer support issues.
