We’re adding a new category to the site, deals!  If we find any crazy deals on carbon fiber stuff, we’ll be sure to post about it.

For the first round, Amazon’s got a Magico men’s watch which features a carbon fiber dial and a 46mm stainless steel body.  Amazon has a list price for $400, but it’s on sale right now for 87% off…which makes it $49.99!  Did I mention free shipping?  Oh yeah, there’s free shipping too.

The watch includes automatic movement, and even comes with a winder so your time is always accurate.  It’s also water resistant up to 660 feet.

If you happen to pick one up, let us know what you think!

I just got mine yesterday, it seems like a very nice watch so far. Not sure if I would have paid the full retail price for it, but at $50 I don’t think I’ll complain. The watch has a very nice weight to it, the movement is very smooth (second hand is a continuous sweep, no stopping at each second mark) and the included winder is a nice touch. I’d recommend buying one for a nice everyday watch that you don’t have to worry about all the time.

Thanks for checking in Jeff, the review is much appreciated!

Gonna have to agree with Jeff. For $50, the automatic movement and sweep second-hand make this a great deal. Its a very hefty piece. The band is also a very nice in that the links have a wide range of motion, they don’t kink, helping it conform to your wrist. The hidden clasp was very stiff initially, but it seems to be breaking in nicely. Lets hope it doesn’t wear out.

I bought this a few weeks back before they went out of stock (they are now back in stock at time of writing, albeit for $79) at the $45 price point, and couldn’t be happier. The winder alone is worth the price, as my dual watch winder cost over $65. It is a fun watch to wear, rather large, but compared to my Omega Planet Ocean, it is just slightly larger in all aspects.

Remember that this is a Japanese movement, and while the second-hand “sweeps,” it is a very jumpy process and anyone with any experience in watches will point it out immediately. I love the review on Amazon from the ritzy watch owner who says he bought it to do yard work in – it deserves better treatment than that, but if you’re going to try and belittle people who will make this watch their first automatic, then go right ahead with your rude comments, I suppose!
