We launched Carbon Fiber Gear back in December of 2007, and its been an interesting ride. The site has rapidly grown, and we’re getting known to be the place to come for the latest in carbon fiber product features and news. We’ve been featured on popular sites such as FHM Magazine, Autoblog, and Luxist.
With more and more of you coming here every day, we’d like to share a few ways you can stay connected with us and be a part of the community. We’ve setup quite a few things you can do to be connected, and we always have open ears when it comes to feedback for improvement.
The Blog
The blog is what you’re reading right now, and is considered the main feature of Carbon Fiber Gear. This is where our team posts about the latest and greatest products made with or out of carbon fiber. We’re always on the lookout for interesting products and new technologies to write about, whether it’s a submission from you, or something we find. Here are some ways you can stay connected with us:
- Bookmark Us - An easy way to keep up with us is to bookmark this page. You can even set it as your homepage so you don’t miss any updates.
- RSS Feed - Our RSS feed or “news feed” allows you to get our latest content directly to you through a feed reader such as Google Reader, My Yahoo, and many others. It’s a newly popular way of browsing the web. If you’re unfamiliar with RSS, check out WhatIsRSS.com for more detailed information.
- E-Mail Updates - If you’d like an e-mail every time we create a new post, simply subscribe to our e-mail updates here.
- Social Bookmarking - You’ll notice at the bottom of each post, there is a link for “Digg” and “Stumble”. These are social networking sites which allow you to bookmark your favorite websites/pages, and then share them with everybody else on the web. It’s a great way to help promote your favorite sites, any social bookmarking you do for us is always appreciated and helps us grow.
- Commenting - The last way you can be a part of our community is by commenting on posts. On any of our posts you’ll find a comments section on the bottom of the page. This is where you can post your feedback for an article and read feedback from others. We look forward to hearing your thoughts, so definitely post away!

We’ve brought in our first contributing editor to the Carbon Fiber Gear team. Her name is Alyson, and you’ll find posts written by her from time to time (You’ll find her first post tomorrow morning):
You can see that Alyson is a pretty attractive young lady, and also happens to be one of my best friends. That is actually me in the background taking a picture while we were in St. Croix last year.
Alyson is 25 and has a bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland Baltimore County, where I met her. She currently works in HR for a government contracting company in the Washington DC metro area. Feel free to post a comment and welcome her to the team 
After launching our new design, we’ve finally revamped our store to integrate it into the site. We still have some content to add to the store, but the majority of the work is done…at least enough for you guys to use it. You’ll find the store categories in the categories box. We’ve also added a store search to the search box, so you can search for products in the store from any page.
There has been a bunch of little things here and there that we’ve done to improve on the new design…and we have a few more things on the list. Starting next week, we’ll be once concentrating on adding new content for the blog. We have a few really cool posts that we’re excited about, so look forward to that.

We’re happy to announce that today we’ve launched the new look that has been in the works for a bit of time now! If you’re reading from our RSS feed, take a few seconds to check out the new look.
We’ve completely revamped the blog part of the site from the ground up. We were previously using a somewhat customized theme that was pretty common on the web…and honestly just didn’t work too well for this site. This time around we designed the site, coded it, and integrated into Wordpress ourselves. This way it’s all customized just for you!
There are still a few little things here and there that we’ll be modifying, so don’t be surprised to see a couple of changes over the next couple weeks. We’re also busy in the background working on revamping our store, so look for something on that soon.
If you have any feedback, we’re always all ears, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Feel free to play around with the site, see what you think, and if you find any bugs, let us know!
In May we’ll be covering a variety of carbon fiber motorcycle parts on this blog. From helmets to frame sliders, we’ll take a look at what’s out there. Carbon fiber is a great material that not only looks good, but is also very effective. It’s lightweight and strong, one of the reasons why it’s used in all sorts of applications from automobiles to aircrafts to toilets. Toilets was not a type, carbon fiber has been used in all sort of high-end products as well as novelty items…and that’s precisely why we’re here. Another cool feature that we’ve done was create the Carbon Fiber Gear store. We’re not actually selling anything (Yet 
), but we’ve spent hours upon hours setting up the site to categorize practically anything and everything carbon fiber that you can find on eBay. eBay is a great place to find carbon fiber odds and ends, as well as all your standard CF stuff like car and motorcycle parts. Now you can just go to our store and won’t need to weed anything out.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been working hard on launching the new Carbon Fiber Gear store! I can definitely see the store evolving over time, but for right now it is a good way to find almost everything made from or with carbon fiber that is on eBay. I have compiled over 50 categories of products from car parts to jewelry. Take a look at it, browse through, and let me know your thoughts. In the future I’d like to expand it out into more than just products on eBay. You can find a link to the store on the top menu in case you ever want to go back.
