There’s a high chance that you found this blog through one of Autoblog’s latest post where they covered our carbon fiber wallpaper compilation. I wanted to give this opportunity to welcome you to the Carbon Fiber Gear blog!
Carbon fiber is a great material that not only looks good, but is also very effective. It’s lightweight and strong, one of the reasons why it’s used in all sorts of applications from automobiles to aircrafts to toilets. Toilets was not a type, carbon fiber has been used in all sort of high-end products as well as novelty items…and that’s precisely why we’re here. We’ve made it our mission to find all of the coolest and most unique carbon fiber products out there…and find you the best deals. Take a look at some previous posts to see some examples:
If you ever find anything cool that we haven’t covered, feel free to contact us.
Another cool feature that we’ve done was create the Carbon Fiber Gear store. We’re not actually selling anything (Yet
), but we’ve spent hours upon hours setting up the site to categorize practically anything and everything carbon fiber that you can find on eBay. eBay is a great place to find carbon fiber odds and ends, as well as all your standard CF stuff like car and motorcycle parts. Now you can just go to our store and won’t need to weed anything out.
Once again, welcome to the site, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Nissan is finally bringing their flagship GT-R to the US in 2009. The GT-R is the ultimate Nissan sports car, able to compete (and beat!) a 911 Porsche Turbo on the track for half the price.

The only problem is that it will be hard to get your hands on any of this unless you’re in Japan…and even then, it won’t be cheap at all. Expect to pay top dollar:

Technology company Acer has a special series of laptops that they call the Ferrari series. There are three versions, considered their high-end notebooks, the Ferrari 1000, Ferrari 1100, and Ferrari 5000. As you may have guessed it, all of the laptops feature a carbon fiber case, and look ridiculously sexy.
Ferrari 1000
The Ferrari 1000 is an ultra-portable notebook with a 12.1″ screen. It features an AMD Turion dual core processor, 160GB SATA hard drive, and ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 integrated graphics.

Ferrari 1100
The Ferrari 1100 is also an ultra-portable notebook in a 12.1″ form factor…weighing in at only 1.95kg. With bluetooth, a 64-bit AMD Turion dual-core processor, and ATI Radeon X1270 graphics, this will fly. Combined with the carbon fiber cover and matte black velvety texture with special-edition Ferrari peripherals…you will be computing in utmost style.

Ferrari 5000
The Ferrari 5000 is the big dog in the lineup. With a complete light-weight carbon fiber case, and a carbon fiber racing stripe…you will be inspired. An upgraded ATI Mobility Radio X1600, AMD Turion 64 X2 processor, and a 15.4″ monitor, you can game with the best of them. It even included an HDMI port, HD-DVD drive, and a built-in webcam.

Are you a true car and carbon fiber enthusiast? Got a spare $2 million laying around? Then it may be time for you to be one of 14 owners of the Koenigsegg CCX Editions or one of 6 CCXR Editions.
The CCX Edition is a twin-supercharged V8 with 888hp, while the CCXR Edition is an ethanol-burning engine pumping out 1,018hp. 0-60 performance for both cars are 2.9 seconds and can go over 250mph. The cars are available in either black or bare carbon fiber…I figured you guys would be most interested in the bare carbon fiber:

This product has not yet been officially announced by Asus, so I don’t have anything in terms of specs…but I do have pictures that were snagged from the CeBit show in Germany.

I’ll be sure to post more information once I get it.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been working hard on launching the new Carbon Fiber Gear store! I can definitely see the store evolving over time, but for right now it is a good way to find almost everything made from or with carbon fiber that is on eBay. I have compiled over 50 categories of products from car parts to jewelry. Take a look at it, browse through, and let me know your thoughts. In the future I’d like to expand it out into more than just products on eBay. You can find a link to the store on the top menu in case you ever want to go back.
