Got $160,000 burning in your pocket with the need for speed? Consider the world’s only full carbon fiber Ducati 999s. For sale on JamesList, the motorcycle has been re-done from the chassis up using as many carbon fiber and titanium parts as possible.

The was hand built on a carbon fiber frame from Carbo-Tech, which alone costs over $10,000. Each carbon fiber part was honed and polished and then buffed to a high gloss with multiple lacquering.

The engine was tuned up to 1037 ccm by one of Germany’s most famous motorbike tuners (BeFaster). The engine now puts out 170 hp, allowing it to run 0-60 in less than 3 seconds with a top speed over 186mph. Here’s a list of important modifications that were done:
- Carbon fiber frame by CarboTech
- Fairing and oil cooler by Febur
- Braking system by Beringer
- Shock absorbers from Oehlins
- Full titanium exhaust system from Moto Corse
- Racing suspension unit from Wilbers
- Rims from BlackstoneTec
- Much more

All of the carbon fiber and titanium helped shave the total weight down to just 143 kg.

With just a few kilometeres on the odometer, it would be a perfect addition to your high-end motorcycle collection. At $160,000, it makes it one of the most expensive motorcycles in the world.

Make sure to also check out AEM’s carbon fiber hayabusa we saw at SEMA.

Now, put a skinny little feller from India on it and try for a world record, but for you big fat Yanks, not a hope in hell!
$160,000 to buy maybe, but how much to repair all the faring once you throw it down the road on your first outing?
0.88 kW/kg
0.54 hp/lb
compared to the original
0.51 kW/kg
0.31 hp/lb
That’s quite a big gain, but not sure it’s worth $140,000 to be able to kill yourself half a second quicker.
at least its not a BMW. i’d rather walk. heh.
Hey Uncle B….YANK THIS!! You Wanker!
looks very nice!!!
Nice bike, just a little out of my price range. Love the carbon fiber look. I do carbon fiber repairs for a living and love every minute of it.
Dorsey,
Hey a little extra exposure never hurts anybody. A lot of these RC Aircrafts are made from carbon fiber, so I see it a little related. I think my next blog will have to dicuss this and throwing your link in would probably enhance it. Have a good one!
